No-meat diet for kids? Advantages and creative ways to make veggie snacks

If you have a kid, then you must have a snack prepared and at hand especially in the afternoon, when they simply raid the kitchen and state the fact that they are totally starving. In this period, having a healthy snack at hand seems like a good idea, but you should consider the fact that having a balanced diet is essential for kids. Having too many proteins or too many carbohydrates influences the way your kid grows and develops, not only physically, but also mentally.

Oriental culture is well-known for its healthy lifestyle, which is based on the principle that prevention is better than treatment and although rumoured to be more time-consuming, it is just a matter of choice and by the end of the day, what matters is our children’s safety and well-being. We live in a developed society, where meat is considered to be an essential part of one’s diet, but apart from all the proteins and the nutritional values that meat has, it also contains toxic and allergenic substances in small quantities, which can damage the digestive system of your child if overused.

Meat allergies are rated as uncommon in childhood, although they can appear in up to 1 of 20 children and they are often triggered by other allergies or external factors. One of the most commonly reported allergic association is the one between dairy, especially cow milk and beef. Beef allergens have been identified in a number of muscle and serum proteins, which are cross-reactive to milk or other mammalian meats but which can also be found in lamb, pork, venison, chicken and turkey.

Meat allergies are also closely related to tick bites, as a study from the University of Virginia has shown, so avoid bushy areas and take a shower as soon as you entered the house. Symptoms include anaphylaxis, cutaneous symptoms, namely angioedema, dermatitis, itching of ears, face, and hands, edema, rashes and urticarial; gastrointestinal symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhoea, nausea and even vomiting and it can lead to respiratory diseases such as asthma or allergic rhinitis.

In these cases, being preventive is the best solution. A detoxification diet is highly recommended, especially for kids, so if you are searching for some tasty, fun to make veggie snacks, here are some ideas:
